Webinar: eRaDicate Project - Focus on Cancer Stem Cells

The main goal of the MSCA project eRaDicate, in which TG serves as an industrial partner, is to develop new therapies targeting cancer stem cell (CSC)-driven relapse and metastasis. In this webinar, Dr. Martin Schepelmann, Project Coordinator, presents the project milestones, and Dr. Cesar Cobaleda introduces key concepts related to CSCs and their role in cancer development.

Colorectal cancer study

Integrative Multiomics Approach Unveils Systemic Dysfunction in Colorectal Cancer

A recent study identified distinct immunotypes within the CRC macroenvironment, revealing altered immune cell compositions by combining CyTOF, scRNAseq and mIF. The findings indicate that PD1+CD69+CD8+ T cells in blood can predict tertiary lymphoid structure presence. The team used TissueFAXS slide scanner and StrataQuest software to image and analyze mIF-stained tumor sections.

KIF11 as a Prognostic Marker in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

KIF11 as a Prognostic Marker in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

A research team identified an 8-gene signature for predicting the prognosis of ESCC patients, with KIF11 as the most significant prognostic factor. The signature score was suggested as a potential prognostic and predictive biomarker, effectively enabling patient stratification. To evalutate the correlation of between KIF11 expression with CD8+ T cell infiltration in mIF samples, TissueFAXS Spectra system and StrataQuest software were employed.

Tumor Cells from Blood Vessels

Case Study: Evaluating the Distance of Tumor Cells from Blood Vessels

The tumor vasculature is essential for sustaining the tumor survival and facilitating its often-extensive growth. In this study the IF Tumor Foci Angio App was used to (i) assess the number of tumor and non-tumor nuclei, (ii) the number of blood vessels, and (iii) to evaluate the distance of tumor cells from blood vessels within the tumorous areas.
