The EN ISO 13485:2003 is a key standard for companies seeking to manufacture medical electronic devices. ISO 13485, published in 2003, is an important quality management standard and represents the requirements for a comprehensive management system for the design and manufacture of medical devices.

Our office space in the heart of the city, just a short walk from St. Stephen’s Cathedral, is large enough to accommodate up to 30 staff members. We focus on research and development in laboratory and software technology, notably including microscopy. Tissue Gnostics was established in 2003, prompted by long years of experience at Vienna’s University of Medicine and General Hospital Center. Much of this experience was associated with problems and insecurities due to flawed techniques of histological assessment.

We have been the first manufacturer to solve these problems. The question was: how does my computer know where a cell starts and where it ends? We have been the first manufacturer to successfully locate individual cells in their native tissue environment and to represent and analyze them as singular objects.

The new algorithms and automated routines developed by TissueGnostics are reliable tools to identify cells and cell nuclei based on tiny differences in staining. Only two markers are required to capture the overwhelming majority of tumor cells in any given tissue segment. In addition, each tumor cell is subdivided into its nuclear, cytoplasmic and membranous compartments. In areas traditionally characterized by visual and verbal approximations, TissueGnostics has been the first manufacturer to develop tools supplying exact data for rigorous scientific analysis. TissueGnostics products offer outstanding economy and precision, which sets them apart from all other products available on the market. Not only are they faster and more precise than any competing products, but they are substantially more economical as well. Our products are highly appropriate for a wide variety of diagnostic, biotechnological and pharmaceutical applications.
